A nice day for a black wedding…

You know, I might actually consider getting married someday… if I were able to wear something like the new Harajuku Bride set from Ookami Ningen.

Meanwhile, this is SL, so I can wear it everyday if I want.  And I just might.

This ensemble just blows me away.  Sleek and sophisticated, edgy and daring, creative and original.  Completely hand-drawn.  And like all of Zorena’s creations, it includes a bazillion optional pieces.

Being… well… me, I decided to emphasize the gothic edginess of it, so I added the Lovecraft jewelry set from Tekeli-li (with moving eyes!,) one of the Jrock skins from [][]Trap[][], and a funky spiky Penumbra hair.

Feather-Brained

Hats with feathers.  The upcoming July 4th.  There is a yankee-doodly play on words to be made there, but I just don’t have the cheese in me to do it it.  Consider yourself unamused, and let’s move on…

Wandering aimlessly last night, I ran across two, that’s right TWO befeathered top hats with hair attached.  My relationship with hats is usually a one-way affair.  I love hats… they just don’t love me back.

Yes, I know they’re similar.  Yes, I still had to have them both.  Don’t give me that look.  Come on, just LOOK at them.  You’d have done the same.  Don’t tell me you wouldn’t.

The first is the Thursday Hat from Gritty Kitty, and has some really nice scripting options for changing the hat, hatband, and feather colors.  The attached hair is long and wavy, with a loose knot in the back.

The next is Noah, from Philotic Energy.  No scripting, but the feathers can be easily tinted since the hat is mod.  The hair is short, messy, and kind of frantic.

And while we’re on the subject of feathery hats, I would be absolutely remiss if I didn’t mention one of the new piratey hats to come from the talented little fingers of Siyu Suen of Illusions.

They’re all covet-worthy, but my favorite of the bunch is the Bard’s Hat:

Once again, Siyu shows off her unholy talent with sculpted prims.  The hat shape is smooth and perfect. The feathers cascade down the center in a clever mixture of sculpted and flexi prims.  Both the hat and feathers are scripted with a beautiful selection of textures and colors.

I don’t know if any feathered fowl were harmed in the making of this post, but I don’t really care.

I am a rockstar. Rock out.

Ok… yes, I do need to customize the new little blog, and make it all spiffy and non-generic.   However, I’m not feeling inspired to do that just yet.  What I am feeling inspired to do is show you this new jacket that I have from Canimal. So without further jibber-jabber, I give you…

* cue dramatic music*

My First Post!

I saw this jacket on a hair ad, and was possessed with an unholy desire to find it an own it.  For some reason, Canimal is just not one of my regular stops.  The clothes there tend to never look as good on me as they do in the ad.  The Rocker Jacket is an exception to that. :D

To compliment it’s zippery goodness, I paired it with the fabulous Zippy Pants from Wrong.  Now, I really hate the built-in flares on system pants.  So to get that nice slim cuff, I popped on the sculpted leg pieces from Armidi’s “Journey Tweed” pants.  These are great, mod cuffs that I wear with a lot of my black pants.  Just a tiny bit of tinting and tweaking, and most would never notice they aren’t textured to match.  I mean, who really looks at your pants legs?  Besides me, I mean.

Lots of belts, chains, and strappy bits later… and I am a rockstar.  Rock out.
