Yuki-onna

When I spotted the amazing Ishiko hair in the Philotic Energy booth at Hair Fair, I knew I didn’t even need to try a demo.  An elegant geisha style, bedecked with bones and skulls… I had no choice but to own it.

Then I discovered that Yukio Ida of [Gauze] had created a kimono inspired by the hair.  Ishiko is a companion to the Ghost Hakama from [][]Trap[][] (which I blogged previously,) and both pieces rank among some of the most stunning and creatively interpreted clothing I’ve ever worn in SL.

I have an urge to go read Japanese ghost stories, now.

In other news, today marks one year to the day since I started Strange Pixels.  I wasn’t even sure at the time if this would stick.  I do have a tendency to start projects with a bang, only to fizzle out and slink away shortly thereafter.  This little corner of the web that I began on a lark has become one of the most enjoyable ongoing projects that I’ve ever counted myself lucky enough to be a part of.  Many hugs to Grady, Dan, and Recidivist for the love and attention they’ve dedicated to SP.  Without this combination of voices, our conversation would grow quiet.

Thank you to all of you readers who have indulged us as we learn, grow, and find our path. <3

Beautiful presentation here. I’ve seen other shots and wasn’t quite sold, but with this, I definitely need to look again. Congratulations with the blog, as well! As Ach said, the SL realm of shooting and writing is a much more diverse and lovely place with Strange Pixels.

I recommend “Ghost of a Smile” by Deborah Boliver Boehm. Not quite ghost stories, but some excellent reading, inspired by Japanese folklore.

I’ve been lurking for a few months, I find your looks quite inspiring. The yuki-onna is my favorite tragic character of folklore, and this ensemble is just stunning. Congrats on a whole year!
