Categories: Art, Boots, Costumes, Fantasy Clothing, Goth, Grady Echegaray, Hair, Women's ClothingThe new Nightmare skirt from Sn@tch is a gorgeous construction of sculpted prims. My first instinct was to put together something traditionally gothy, but I ran across this hair and decided to take it in a different direction…
A few caveats:
The skirt: is constructed of all sculpted prims, so it tends towards stiffness. This is minimized by multiple pieces on different attach points, so it actually dances fairly well. But don’t expect to be able to sit or contort and keep the illusion of a flowing skirt. Ahhh, flexy sculpts… one day, my preciouses. Yessss…
The belt: doesn’t exist. I made it from the collar, which is mod and copy. (So have at it if this appeals to you! It’s not too hard if you can edit linked prims. Each link is one sculpted piece, so it stretches quite easily.)
The neck brace: is actually two different pieces, stacked on top of each other. Details in the credits.
Categories: Accessories, Cybergoth, Goth, Hair, Mourna Biziou, Women's ClothingI am adorned in elegant new rags from Plastik today. Seriously, how cool is this Ellantha dress? Jagged strips of fabric and fishnet, laced and bound and draped. Throw in a fishtail hem, and you’re pretty much guaranteed my adoration.
I’ve been all about some Exile hair lately, I know. It’s a grievous oversight on my part that I haven’t gushed over them more in the past, and I am in the process of correcting this with much gusto. This hair reminds me of those sunflower costumes you see kids wearing sometimes, like a big poof in the front with your face sticking out of the middle.
Categories: Accessories, Boots, Goth, Hair, Jewelry, Mourna Biziou, Tattoos, Women's ClothingI am not a person who usually enjoys hunts in SL. The tedium just outweighs the haul for me in most cases. That’s not to say there aren’t some great finds and participants, it’s just not generally my cuppa.
There are, however, notable exceptions. And the upcoming WILD.Released stamp hunt is a big one. It’s the brainchild of Faery Sola (of Studio Sidhe,) so that should tell you something about it right there. If you haven’t heard of it, head over to the WILD.Released blog to learn more and get all excited with me. It’s a small hunt, with some of my absolute favorite SL artists participating. And let me tell ya, the prizes that I’ve seen are absolutely top notch.
I get the honor of showing you two of the upcoming prizes. First up is the amazing Lysi set from ~silentsparrow~
(You had me at “steampunk silks.”)
And here is the stunning Magma Crown from [][]Trap[][].
Are you excited yet?
The WILD.Released Hunt will run from March 20th to April 18th.
Hey, here’s that Blog link again, where you can find a list of participants and detailed instructions on how to play. —–> WILD.Released Blog
Categories: Boots, Fantasy Clothing, Goth, Mourna Biziou, Occulta, SL Locations of Note, Silks, Steampunk, Women's ClothingTo have one of your favorite creators design an outfit with you in mind is an honor. For it to be so spot-on as something you’d love, and drop-dead gorgeous, is fully squee-worthy. What I’m trying to say here is: ZOMG HYA MADE AN OUTFIT NAMED AFTER ME AND IT’S AAAWWWESOMEEE!
*coughs*
In so many words.
The Mourna set from Silent Sparrow is part dancing silks, part burlesque. I love the sleek, velvety, button-up corset, the subtle little ruffles peeping out, the fingerless gloves, and so many other great little details. And it is available in Hyasynth’s usual complement of rich colors that make it impossible to choose a favorite.
I’m wearing another one of the beautiful new Mosaic skins from Nomine. And to complete the circle of my vanity, I had no choice but to choose one of the Mourna makeup styles.
I’m going to wrap this up, before I have to start resizing my hair to fit on my gigantic head.
Categories: Accessories, Boots, Goth, Hair, Mourna Biziou, Silks, Tattoos, Women's ClothingI realized I have all these neat undies that never (and I mean never) get seen by another person. So I decided to blog some of my recent favorites. Brace yourself for gratuitous bum shots.
Since I’m showing so much skin, I decided to make it an interesting one. This is the Manna-Kin skin from MIASNOW, with tintable scales tattoo from HUZ colored to match each cool makeup.
Corset from Rotten Toe, with cute little prim frill and bow attachments. I love how clothes from Rotten Toe seem to accentuate a thicker type avatar
Elegantly deconstructed Valerian undies from Plastik, along with the fab new posture collar. Like everything from Plastik, these are available in a whole slew of rich prints and colors. The collars come plain, with straps, with buckles, or with feathers. I’m really in love with the collar and I’ve been wearing one of them pretty much nonstop since I got my paws on ‘em. It’s divinely sculpted to fit around the neck and shoulder area perfectly.
Ok, this is a bikini. But it could totally be worn as undies. The adorable batkini is available in a billionty colors, and it has these cute little prim ties to really finish it off.

I apparently wasn’t quite through with the Valentine’s look yet, and I’m like a dog with a bone when I latch onto a theme.
Did I overdo it with the hearts? Yeah, probably.
Categories: Accessories, Eyes, Freebies, Goth, Hair, Mourna Biziou, Skins, Women's ClothingMunchflower Zaius has released a whole slew of very pretty Valentine’s-day themed stuff lately at Nomine.
This new dress is not one of them, but it still puts me in mind of that day for some reason. I think because it’s deceptively cute, while still capturing the slightly macabre nature of giving out pieces of your heart to those you fancy.
Lassitude & Ennui has released some fabulous new sculpted ankle boots! How exciting is that?? I hope this heralds more new releases to come from one of my favorite stores of all time. (No pressure or anything, Jackal.)
The Imogene boots come in a variety of tantalizing colors, each with a HUD for customizing button and heel color.
After Grady’s beautiful last couple of posts featuring W&Y, they were definitely on my list to stop by. I was pleased to find that the shop has really grown since I last visited! (It had probably been about a year since I gave them a look-see.) I was… less than pleased to see that they’re releasing their hair no-mod now. I have a few reservations about blogging no-mod hair. But as I’m seeing this restriction more and more lately, I don’t see how I can avoid it and still show you the lovely craftsmanship and variety that I find.
But hair-makers, PLEASE: if you’re going to make your hair no-mod, at least use the resize script that allows you to fiddle individual prims! There is such a wide array of avatar types in SL, you really limit your sales if you don’t give customers some way to fit the product to their avatars.
W&Y sell their hair in scripted hair-packs, where you can change between 4 colors via popup menu. Now that’s a feature I can support!
