Autumn Foreshadow

I didn’t consciously set out to put together an autumnal post today.  And yet some of my intense longing for it must have bled through, because that is definitely what I ended up with…

It all started with the gorgeous Helena set from silentsparrow, which immediately caught my eye in the delightful Penny color.  Helena is a swimwear and/or undies set.  I’m not sure which, actually.  It could go either way.  I knew I wanted to incorporate the lovely top into a streetwear outfit.

I stopped by Bukka for a nifty belt or doodad, and I found these wonderful jeans.  You won’t see me posting about jeans very often, but these are unique and made very well.  Bukka has long since impressed me with their belts, boots,  and accessories,  and I’m glad to see them branch into clothing.  These jeans come with the thick brown belt I’m wearing, with belt-loops texture matched to the jeans.

This richly textured and perfectly sculpted courderoy-like jacket is from Aoharu.  I sometimes have a hard time fitting prim jacket pieces, but this one was practically perfect from the box.

Also noteworthy:  newish skins from Miasnow, newish tats from silentsparrow, newish hair from Zero Style, and the older but completely wonderful Patience necklace/belt set from Balderdash.

Now if it could just drop below 80 degrees for a day or two, I’d be a happy Mourna.

Crimson Night

Steampowered Nuts is a huge steampunk-themed shop that has somehow escaped my notice until recently.  They have everything from weapons to vehicles to clothes and accessories by various vendors.  I’ll give you one guess what section I made a beeline for.

One of the goodies I picked up there is the Crimson Night set by Unzipped.   This set includes an optional prim cape, sleeve flounces,  two different skirt styles, and my favorite:  bloomers.

I do have to nitpick a bit about the seams on the clothing layers.  Not an issue with the prim skirts, but clearly seen if you wear the bloomers.  All in all though, a beautiful set with rich texturing, good prim work, and enough options to make anyone happy.

Yes, still running around in the silk blindfold from Illusions.  I keep meaning to take it off, but then I put on something new, color-match the blindfold with a simple click, and it looks so good together that I decide to keep it on.

I’m still sorting through all of my Hair Fair acquisitions.   Both of today’s are from Diversity Hair.  I really could kick myself for never having visited before, as I’m quite impressed with what I saw at the fair.

Bird on a Wire

Two more new hair fair acquisitions, and two older Silent Sparrow releases to remind you about hyasynth’s stupendous half-off sale!  If you haven’t availed yourself to this bargain yet, you’ll have to hurry.  Sale ends tonight at midnight.

Edit:  Apparently the sale ends tomorrow.  Wednesday, 6/24/09.  Whoops!

The “Cog Mistress” hair from The Stringer Mausoleum was just too perfect a match for Silent Sparrow’s “Toxine” suit.  And the cog hair ornaments are a separate attachment, so you can wear the hair without them.

Mourna a blonde!? That might just be one of the signs of the apocalypse.

I always have the most difficult time choosing my colors at Silent Sparrow. They’re all so beautiful and rich, I stand there in a muttering little flutter of indecision for what seems like an eternity.  Then I usually default to my standard red or black for easier mix-and-matching.  But this great sale as afforded me the opportunity to pick up some different colors than my norm, as seen above.
