Strange Pixels

Be warned:  if I see you in something cool, I will nab it.  (And no anti-inspect device can stop me. ;))

Today’s boots are from Rebel Hope, and I nabbed them from Achariya.  (She’s looking fabulous in them over here.)  They’re just so soft and velvety looking; one of those things in SL I just wish I could reach out and touch.

The accessories I’m wearing are from LouLou&Co.   I visited this shop a while back, but their selection was pretty limited and I promptly forgot about them.  Then I saw the always-glamorous Munchflower wearing the necklace and belt, and I scurried over as fast as my little teleport could carry me.  They have really built up an impressive selection since I last went, and onto my regular-stop list they now go.

This set greatly appeals to me, with it perfect little beads, skulls, crosses, ribbons, and flowers.  The belt in particular deserves some close attention.  It’s very ornate, with lots of attached little baubles and links and well textured bits of leather.  It resizes easily, and fits like a dream.

I really love this shirt from Rotten Toe.  I have a weakness for stand-up collars, even if they are a pain to find hair and accessories for.  It comes with cool raggedy prim tails, but I couldn’t work them in with the belt.

I’m also wearing one of the new Enchanted skins from Cupcakes.  It’s always fascinating to me how much difference a skin can make on an avatar.  To me, Cupcakes skins have a very mature and… regal look to them.  Some of the complaints I had about previous Cupcakes skins (such as overly-severe body shading) have been addressed in this new line, while retaining all the thing I love about them.  They’re definitely worth checking out.  My only complaint with this new line is that the lightest skin tone is at least a few shades darker than their previous lightest.

While I was searching for Mutation Industries a few days ago, I happened across Tokushi Avatars.  Besides some really beautiful full creature avatars in a slew of  fantastical designs, they had… these pants.  They were the only clothes that I saw in the shop, but I loved them and bought them in quite a few colors.  All kinds of styles are included.  Shown with the bloomer bottoms, they also had straight hems, and even a belt with a leather tail guard for you nekos out there.  Male and female sizes.

My first thought when I put on the pants was that I had to have one of Fade Dana’s fantastic helmets with this outfit.  They really are amazing…. she somehow manages to make these huge, heavy helmets still feel very feminine and sexy.  And the textures and sculpt work are absolutely top notch.  Expect to see some outfits styled around some of her more ornate selections in the future.

I was whining to Acha the other day that I’ve felt rather blah and uninspired lately, hence the gap since my last post.  So she challenged me to put something together wearing a color I rarely wear.

Well… for me,  it doesn’t get much rarer than pink. :P

I must admit, I got a little carried away.  Dashing across the grid, tping to all of my favorite shops, eyes scanning for any flashes of pink. I think I’m only wearing about half of what I bought. :o

After Grady’s fantastic last post, I tripped over myself in an effort to rush over to Nomine.  I can’t believe I missed this new product announcement.   Munch’s new dresses are daring and awesome.  Alternately swathing you in beautifully textured black fabric, or exposing your bits through a thin scrim of  gauze or fishnet.  (For this photo set, I’ve doubled up the gauze layers to make them more opaque.)

These cool tentacles from Gauze wiggle and lash about with a life of their own.  Hard to photograph, but so much fun to wear.

This ensemble reminded me of some of the cool costumery from The Cell, so I decided to show off this mask from FallnAngel.  It’s an oldie, but still a goodie.

For the next few posts, I’m going to be focusing on poses from some of my favorite shops.  Today’s poses are from AnaLu.  If you’re looking for natural-looking poses that don’t distort the clothing, it doesn’t get any better.

Just a quickie post today.

I quite like this hair and dress from Kyoot.  I don’t often wear a hair without bangs or some kind of shield around where the hair meets the head, but this one is made in such a way that I don’t look like I’m sporting a five-head. :P  The dress is beautifully textured, my only complaint being that the top only comes on the jacket layer, which is a shame as it just begs for layering.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Dresden Dolls and Jill Tracey lately.  Then I picked up one of the awesome new feather boas from Schadenfreude, and this look just kind of fell into place.

I’ve recently discovered the skins from Cupcakes, and I was delighted to find that they suit my av quite well.  They have a smooth  porcelain coloring, and lovely dark eyes and luscious lips.  I went a little crazy buying them last night, so I will definitely be featuring more in future posts.
