Olive Juice

I adore a good textile pattern in SL, so these new Olive sweater dresses from Ducknipple had me frothing at the ads.  They come in a variety of stripes and colors, so you should definitely check them out.  I love Ducknipple for their lovely textures, and for their prim clothing and accessories that always fit me perfectly right out of the box.   Belts, especially,  take a good bit of fiddling of linked prims on my part before I can wear them, but what you see here was edited not one bit.

This dress immediately reminded me of the ubiquitous, beloved Old Boots from Shiny Things.  I marvel that with all the advancements in sculpts we have now, these boots can still hold their own and hold it well.  How many other pairs of shoes from years ago would still look good today?

Also take note - fabulous new skins from Nomine!  The Mosaic line is a departure from what I’m used to from Nomine,  as they bring a touch more smooth realism.   I personally love both styles, but get a hankering for each at different times.  And of course these skins come in the Nomine skin tones and makeups that you know and love - including some previously Limited Edition makeups!  I’m particularly in love with the lips; just look at how soft and plump they are.

Diabolical Streak

Just a quickie tonight, because the 4th of July holiday weekend is kicking my ass at work, and I have to get up at some ungodly hour in the morning.  Bleh.

Viv Draper posted in Ducknipple recently, and it reminded me I haven’t been in a while, which I had to correct forthwith!   So here you have some of the fruits of that shopping trip.  Enjoy!

Let me tell you about my boots,  which came from a recent find that I’m totally psyched about, called House of Curios.  From Easter Island heads, to latex, to shoes, this place has a little bit of everything.  And all priced insanely low.  I, of course, made a beeline for their shoe section.  All very nicely sculpted, most scripted to color change… and nothing above 50L!  Srsly.  Not a huge selection as of yet, but I’ll be checking back regularly.

These fantastic tats are part of a soon-to-be released set from ~silentsparrow~.

They don’t show so much with this makeup, but these lashes from LeLutka are my new favorites.  Being full primmed, (weighing in at 150 or so for the set,) they do inspire a twinge of guilt to wear them about.  But hey, no alpha issues!  No Groucho Marx look (as Dan likes to call it) while you wait for them to rez!  And I’ll take them off when it’s laggy… honest. >.>

Wastelands Silks, Two Takes

[God, I suck at titling posts.]

I love silks, unapologetically.   I really have no occasion to wear them, but that doesn’t stop me from prancing around in them at every opportunity.  Really, what’s the point of a virtual paperdoll, if you can’t don a skimpy dancing costume and bellydance around in your skybox?  None, so there.

Of course, silks of the string-and-scrap-of-fabric variety don’t hold any appeal for me.  Like all my clothing, I look for something with an unusual twist, and the new Rust Shaman set from Dark Eden fits that description perfectly.

100% prim silks are always a marvel to me.  Most of the time they can be a complete pain in the ass to fit, but these worked surprisingly well out of the box.  (Helped along by the thoughtful inclusion of small and large sizes for the main pieces.)  I’m not a delicate kind of girl, and this isn’t a delicate set of silks.  Rough, torn fabric is held in place by rusty bits of wire, cogs, and other scraps of salvage.  The subtle pentagram theme also gives it a nice esoteric kinda feeling.

And just FYI:  I did, in fact, photoshop my nipples out of the sheer top.  Because.  Well, I don’t know you that well yet.  Buy me dinner first, then we’ll talk. :p

I usually end up piecing together elements of my favorite silks to include in a more traditional outfit, so I decided to show you an example of how I incorporated these into a street look.

Voila!  With just a slight bit of modding, the loincloth becomes a belt!

Outfit details after the cut.
