I was sorting through the huge bulk of DSN gifts I had received in the last couple of weeks, (yes, I’m lazy) when I ran across a very promising sample from She Wants Revenge. I must admit that I was predisposed to view anything from this shop favorably, as they happen to be named after one of my favorite bands ever. Happily, there was much more to admire, as they make some very cool latex/shiny items. The quality and design was very nice, but unfortunately latexy stuff really doesn’t suit me. I did pick up a few things for when I find myself in that mood, and I grabbed some other goodies including the skirt and scarf that I’m wearing today.
I have a fondness for this kind of disjointed, superflexi style of skirt. It doesn’t look realistic exactly, but it works with the medium to create an effect that goes beyond what we can have in meatspace. And it is just lovely to dance in.
I popped by EtchD to check out a tattoo I saw on someone, and to my surprise I realized that I’d never been there before. I think I confused it with a different, similarly named tattoo shop. I picked up a zillion really great pieces, because they are lovely and because all of their tattoos are tintable, which is always greatly appreciated among us fair-and-fantasy-skinned folk.
Which reminds me… Mourna’s tip of the day! For tinting tats to look faded on pale skin: don’t just use a grey tint, as it will lay over your skin with a paint-like appearance. Instead, try to pick up a little bit of your skintone with the color. Just a smidge of yellowy red in a light grey gives it a nice translucency.
I am in love with these boots from Resurrection, which is saying a lot as I don’t instantly go for a platform in most cases. But they’re sleek, well made, and quite irresistible.
