Wandering Around Lost

The wonderfully striped and gothy Lost and Damned dress from Sn@tch comes in a pack with red, purple, or black.  (The gothic rainbow, as it were.)

I love this outfit so much… it really suits me.  And there’s something very pleasing to me about how well the buckles on the corset, the boots, and the collar all match.

The jewelled ankh (also from Sn@tch) changes colors with a click, so it can also be matched quite easily.

Also of note is the newish Fader hair from Gritty Kitty.  Oh Gritty Kitty hair, how I love thee.  Truly, you can do no wrong.

I was sorting through the huge bulk of DSN gifts I had received in the last couple of weeks, (yes, I’m lazy) when I ran across a very promising sample from She Wants Revenge.  I must admit that I was predisposed to view anything from this shop favorably, as they happen to be named after one of my favorite bands ever.  Happily, there was much more to admire, as they make some very cool latex/shiny items.  The quality and design was very nice, but unfortunately latexy stuff really doesn’t suit me.  I did pick up a few things for when I find myself in that mood, and I grabbed some other goodies including the skirt and scarf that I’m wearing today.

I have a fondness for this kind of disjointed, superflexi style of skirt.  It doesn’t look realistic exactly, but it works with the medium to create an effect that goes beyond what we can have in meatspace.  And it is  just lovely to dance in.

I popped by EtchD to check out a tattoo I saw on someone, and to my surprise I realized that I’d never been there before.  I think I confused it with a different, similarly named tattoo shop.    I picked up a zillion really great pieces, because they are lovely and because all of their tattoos are tintable, which is always greatly appreciated among us fair-and-fantasy-skinned folk.

Which reminds me… Mourna’s tip of the day!  For tinting tats to look faded on pale skin:  don’t just use a grey tint, as it will lay over your skin with a paint-like appearance.  Instead, try to pick up a little bit of your skintone with the color.  Just a smidge of yellowy red in a light grey gives it a nice translucency.

I am in love with these boots from Resurrection, which is saying a lot as I don’t instantly go for a platform in most cases.  But they’re sleek, well made, and quite irresistible.

Under A Gypsy Moon

Munchflower Zaius at Nomine released a whole glorious line of gypsy-inspired clothing and skins yesterday.  You can imagine my impatience as I trudged through work, hearing these lovelies sing my name.

Making the wait even more unbearable was the fact that Achariya’s scrumptious boy incarnation was dressed and awaiting me.
I pictured him lounging langorously… shirt half open, a bored expression in his eyes…    TORTURE, I tell you!

There are so many options and pieces in this set… shirts, vests, corsets, skirts, jackets, jeans… in rich colors with an exotic gypsy aesthetic.  These pieces just beg to be layered up and combined in a million different ways.  Get thee to Nomine, and gypsify thyself.

Night Shift

(In lieu of actually being able to think of a title for this post, I’ve just named it after what I’m currently listening to.)

Over at Nomine, Munchflower Zaius has recently released a whole slew of really cool new miniskirts.   These aren’t built off glitchpants, so you can wear your favorite pretty undies with them.   Bring on the upskirting!

There are a gajillion styles in just as many colors, but these are two of my favorites.

Handcuffs and pins notwithstanding, I thought this “locked black” style had a sweet little look, so I paired it with a new peekaboo shirt from Sn@tch.  Doesn’t it have just the most perfect neckline?

I can’t help but feeling a bit like I’m sick and wrong for matching the handcuffs on my belt to the handcuff on my necklace.   Not because they’re handcuffs, but because my first thought on seeing the skirt was: “Hey!  I totally have a necklace to match that!”.

The irregular and creative styling of this “cobweb voodoo” skirt led me to compile something a bit edgier for the second look.  I feel a bit like an extra from an 80’s music video, but that’s not a bad thing.

You may have noticed my unique critter accessories.  Wynx Whiplash has released a few wearable pets that no gawth should be without.   Ravens and bats, oh my!  Beautifully textured and sculpted, these critters spread their wings and caw/squeak (respectively) at you on touch.  They also fly around your head for 10 seconds on command and parrot anything you say on a certain channel.  The bats come in black, brown, and white.  The black is my favorite, but I’ve shown it in brown for contrast. Good stuff.

Circumradiant Dawn

PixelDolls might not be the first place one thinks of when looking for gothic-y clothing, but I’ve always thought that Neph’s aesthetic lent itself well to a darkly elegant, romantic look that I particularly identify with.

Helena Stringer definitely needs to make more non-mohawk styles.  Not to imply that her mohawks are not completely awesome, because they are.  But I just don’t have the head shape for them.

Let me tell you about my boots,  which came from a recent find that I’m totally psyched about, called House of Curios.  From Easter Island heads, to latex, to shoes, this place has a little bit of everything.  And all priced insanely low.  I, of course, made a beeline for their shoe section.  All very nicely sculpted, most scripted to color change… and nothing above 50L!  Srsly.  Not a huge selection as of yet, but I’ll be checking back regularly.

These fantastic tats are part of a soon-to-be released set from ~silentsparrow~.

They don’t show so much with this makeup, but these lashes from LeLutka are my new favorites.  Being full primmed, (weighing in at 150 or so for the set,) they do inspire a twinge of guilt to wear them about.  But hey, no alpha issues!  No Groucho Marx look (as Dan likes to call it) while you wait for them to rez!  And I’ll take them off when it’s laggy… honest. >.>

Bad Juju Kitty

Do not attempt to adjust your monitors.  I am, in fact, a neko today.

Blame Whirligig, perhaps.  Featuring a cuddly critter in my last post gave me fuzzy-tail-envy.

Or maybe blame the many coffees laced with Baileys that I’ve imbibed so far.

I’m a bad kitty up to nefarious deeds, and this new(ish) Magician’s Belt from Dark Eden holds all my sneaky feline potions and spells.

If I actually owned a cat, I could probably come up with some witty cat-themed magic here.  Elixir of hairball in your shoe?  Essence of sharpening claws on the back of your favorite chair?  I’m drawing a blank here.  Feel free to leave suggestions.
