Strange Pixels

I’m been semi-zonked on Nyquil for the last few days, so if today’s post sucks, that’s totally the reason.

I went to Dela a few days ago, and grabbed these lovely boots with the great floppy bows.  I knew I had to have a smart looking suit with a nice jabot to wear with, so my first and last stop was Silent Sparrow.

Ultra-mega closeup to show off  the new peepers.  Poetic Colors is an eye merchant that Mocksoup Graves turned me onto, and I am in love with them.   All of their eyes are hypnotically glossy and hyper-realistic, with a gorgeous blending of colors.  I loved the mix so much that I picked up the colors for the background directly from the eyes.

… I may have gone a bit overboard with the purple. >.>

It occurred to me recently that I don’t share enough casual ensembles.  Not every post has to be a theatrical costume, eh?

If you ever run into me out and about, I’ll very likely be wearing something like this.

Yay for new boots from Shiny Things!  I think I shall be shod in these Ving boots for some time to come.

The delectable Io Zeno recently sent me scurrying off to Reasonable Desires, after stunning the New Year’s Eve assembly with one of their lovely costumes.

RD is one of those places I’ve heard about, but never seemed interested enough in to meander over and check them out.

Well, that was silly of me.  They really do have some great costumes and lingerie, and you can’t argue with the prices.

This getup, called “Burlesque,” comes in just about any color you could want.

Now, I’m a boot girl.  I don’t even think I’ve blogged any shoes before.  But I was all over these awesome skully shoes from Canimal.   And twitchy as it makes me to show a closeup of the atrocity that is the SL avatar ankle, you just gotta see these:

This post was supposed to happen last night,  but then drunkenness happened… and, well… yeah.  Happy New Year!

So after Rev’s last post, I had to run over to Made in Heaven & Hell and see if those pants were truly unisex. (They were!)

While there, I found this nifty little dress I’ve seen Munch in recently.  So… this post features finds by the two of them.  Thanks guys. :)

After all the elaborate Halloween costumery, it’s somewhat soothing to slip into a snuggly sweater and scarf.  Just writing this post makes me want a spiced cider in front of a crackling fire.

These cozy cashmere sweaters from Sn@tch are available in two different fatpacks with a huge selection of juicy colors.  Included with the sweater packs is this yummy sculpted scarf, scripted to allow you a choice between at least a dozen wonderful knitted textures.  The arm cuffs are from another sweater.

Hmm… I may have to take Grady out for a latte.  With a dash of Baileys.

[God, I suck at titling posts.]

I love silks, unapologetically.   I really have no occasion to wear them, but that doesn’t stop me from prancing around in them at every opportunity.  Really, what’s the point of a virtual paperdoll, if you can’t don a skimpy dancing costume and bellydance around in your skybox?  None, so there.

Of course, silks of the string-and-scrap-of-fabric variety don’t hold any appeal for me.  Like all my clothing, I look for something with an unusual twist, and the new Rust Shaman set from Dark Eden fits that description perfectly.

100% prim silks are always a marvel to me.  Most of the time they can be a complete pain in the ass to fit, but these worked surprisingly well out of the box.  (Helped along by the thoughtful inclusion of small and large sizes for the main pieces.)  I’m not a delicate kind of girl, and this isn’t a delicate set of silks.  Rough, torn fabric is held in place by rusty bits of wire, cogs, and other scraps of salvage.  The subtle pentagram theme also gives it a nice esoteric kinda feeling.

And just FYI:  I did, in fact, photoshop my nipples out of the sheer top.  Because.  Well, I don’t know you that well yet.  Buy me dinner first, then we’ll talk. :p

I usually end up piecing together elements of my favorite silks to include in a more traditional outfit, so I decided to show you an example of how I incorporated these into a street look.

Voila!  With just a slight bit of modding, the loincloth becomes a belt!

Mmmm…. straps.  Lots and lots of delicious straps…

A note on the Oshun Straps shown in this ensemble…

The set does not actually come with a belt, but does have a loincloth.  Being fully moddable, I pulled off the loinclothy part to leave only the top belts.  It also does not come with a choker or single leg strap, but I made them from the upper arm straps. Yay copy/mod!

I love this short hair by TheAbyss, by the way.  It’s floaty and wispy, and doesn’t have that pointy pineapple look in the back.  (Don’t ask me to explain it.  You know what I’m talking about. :p)
