Strange Pixels

Munchflower Zaius has released a whole slew of very pretty Valentine’s-day themed stuff lately at Nomine.

This new dress is not one of them, but it still puts me in mind of that day for some reason.  I think because it’s deceptively cute, while still capturing the slightly macabre nature of giving out pieces of your heart to those you fancy.

Lassitude & Ennui has released some fabulous new sculpted ankle boots!  How exciting is that??  I hope this heralds more new releases to come from one of my favorite stores of all time.  (No pressure or anything, Jackal.)

The Imogene boots come in a variety of tantalizing colors, each with a HUD for customizing button and heel color.

After Grady’s beautiful last couple of posts featuring W&Y, they were definitely on my list to stop by.  I was pleased to find that the shop has really grown since I last visited! (It had probably been about a year since I gave them a look-see.)  I was… less than pleased to see that they’re releasing their hair no-mod now.  I have a few reservations about blogging no-mod hair.  But as I’m seeing this restriction more and more lately, I don’t see how I can avoid it and still show you the lovely craftsmanship and variety that I find.

But hair-makers, PLEASE:  if you’re going to make your hair no-mod, at least use the resize script that allows you to fiddle individual prims!  There is such a wide array of avatar types in SL, you really limit your sales if you don’t give customers some way to fit the product to their avatars.

W&Y sell their hair in scripted hair-packs, where you can change between 4 colors via popup menu.  Now that’s a feature I can support!

Didja miss me? >.>

I’ve kinda sorta been on an impromptu semi-SL vacation lately.  I wish I could say I was off doing something productive.  But, no.  Not even a little bit.

Getting back into it just emphasizes for me how strange and elastic SL-time is.  I’ve only been away a few weeks, but I feel soo behind.  Bear with me for a bit, as I probably am going  to be blogging stuff that everyone has already seen.

Edited to add:  Ack!  Well I’ve just found out that apparently Rotten Toe is closed for the time being, and scheduled to open back up September 10th.  I’ll update the SLurl when they reopen.  Sorry bout that. :(  You see?  I’m totally out of the loop.

Inventory diving tonight… you know what that means?

Sometimes magic happens; sometimes I turn out looking like a goth hobo.

I leave it to you to decide where this falls.

You really have to see this dress in action to fully realize how well it’s made.  My usual gripe with babydoll-type dresses is the little fact of your booty popping out of it every time you move.  But this dress is attached in three places, so it moves with you quite well.  It flutters nicely, with minimal glitch.

The cuteness of it was too much, I had to have freckles.   Cue Tuli, and an adorable skin that I don’t have oppoortunity to wear nearly enough.  Because I’m so freakin’ serious-face all the time.
